What do you need?
Before you start using your eID, you need the following:
- electronic identity card
- security envelope that came with the eID and which contains information for registering to the eID portal and activation of eID
- computer with Internet access
- reader in accordance with specifications
- free software package eID Middleware
In order to use eID, it is necessary to have a smart card reader.
If your computer is not equipped with an integrated reader, it is necessary to get an external USB card reader.
Below are the minimum technical specifications for USB smart card readers for eID:
- ISO7816
- Conformity PC/SC
- Appropriate driver for the reader for computer’s operating system
- USB 2.0.
